This sure does get people upset. Why is that? Why are people here in the good ol' USA so up tight?
We espose freedom, yet we are so restrictive in our thoughts as to what is 'offensive'. Political Correctness has turned this country upsidedown. If anything our so called moral compass only points in one direction. We worry about the unimportant things.
If our soldiers are killed we think 'what a shame', and continue on. If a child is raped and murdered, we think 'gosh just terrible, hope they catch who ever did it' and then we move on. If we see homeless people suffering, we think...'just terrible' and move on. But if someone has a 'wardrobe malfunction' or Brittany Spears decides to not wear underwear or Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell start calling each other names....stop the presses!!!! Weeks of headlines....people scream...'I'm insulted!'...'I've been harmed'...'ooo my eyes!!'...'I'm going to sue'....quick have a hearing!!!...pass some laws!!!!!
What an embarassment!
Lets look at some really offensive things that occurred just today...and everyday in the US of A.
Today 13 million children went hungry.
Today 260 million pounds of food will be thrown away by the food service industry.
Today 52,000 people will contract an STD/STI an additional 109 will contract HIV.
Today 258 women will be raped.
Today 47 people will be murdered.
Today 11,000 wild animals will be killed by vehicles.
Today 554 hectares of wetlands was destroyed.
Today 593 hectares of forest was cut down.
So folks...you tell me where the problem is....me being a naturist or the fact that this country seriously has its concerns in the wrong place.

How to get our troops out of Iraq? An open letter to US politicians.
This seems like a perplexing problem to many. The solution seems to be either increasing troop numbers, immediate pull out or somewhere in between. None of these solutions address the core problem. Money. The world revolves around money (unfortunately). Factions in Iraq are fighting over money (oil) control not religion. Who ever controls the government controls the oil…thus directs the flow of cash to the people of Iraq (for those who don’t know, the people of Iraq are supposed to get a check every month from the sale of oil to other countries, plus they enjoy fuel at a cheap rate). Ok, so how do we solve the money problem? Extortion.
What you ask? Extortion. The US needs to call together all the members of OPEC (this might even get Hugo Chavez to calm down a bit) and advise them of an invention the US has been working on in secret for many years. What invention? Hydrogen fuel. The US has successfully developed an inexpensive way to convert water to energy. These power units can be installed in homes, vehicles, aircraft, anyplace a power source is needed. So how does this help the situation in Iraq? Quite simply, the US will topple OPEC if they do not reign in the radical factions. Money will cease to flow due to lack of oil demand. Prices will plunge, and those in power will be reduced to late 1800 style of living….because there will be no money. But the US isn’t the only consumer of oil. Correct, that’s why the US will release the technology worldwide. Countries such as India and China will able to generate their own power also. Environmental impacts will be hugely reduced, the poor will have heat (or AC), and the billions spent on the war in Iraq can be spent elsewhere. Conflict over energy rights worldwide will cease.
To pull this off the US must have working models of said power units to prove to OPEC we are serious. Of course OPEC will also argue that the US won’t do this because it would also topple some of the US’s largest companies that harvest and refine petroleum (some products such as plastics will still require petroleum, plus lubricants etc., but with demand reduced by 75% that can be made domestically or even synthetically). The US needs to also have a plan in place to deal with this issue. Massive tax breaks while these companies transition to other products and services (such as desalination and distilled water production). The US government will need to tighten its spending belt quite a bit, but with the savings from no conflict in Iraq, no longer needing to stabilize an entire region…trillions of dollars will be saved…but best of all…the lives of our brave men and women in the armed forces will be saved. Ok, what if OPEC agrees? Fantastic…problem solved, soldiers come home, billions of $$$ saved, and the US can make a slower transition to this type of energy (hey its going to happen anyway) giving corporations time to readjust.
I know the US has the technology to pull this off, but it is the fear of the damage to these corporations that keep us on the petroleum teet. Frankly, lives of our military are worth far more than the jingle in corporations and investors pockets. Greed has us sacrificing lives and our planet. What will it take to make this move? Hundreds more dead? Thousands? Collapse of world ecosystems? Stop the greed, end the conflicts, save the planet….the savings in the long run will far outweigh the hits we will take today. Make the political sacrifice, so we don’t have to sacrifice more lives and our entire planet.
